Sneeze and anticipation reflection

As the sneeze the wind turbine produces acts as the trigger of the storyline, I thought it would be important to animate that as well, and show it is the fans that generate the wind to blow off the hat, rather than the actual sneeze. Since this is this trigger, I wanted to take time in building up the anticipation, and chose to show extreme close-ups on the eyes widening in realisation, which would then be followed be an extreme close-up of the mouth getting ready to sneeze. Whilst these were simple movements, I wanted to convey the emotion through exaggeration, and also make them impactful through the speed. I am pleased with how they turned out, though I did imagine the eyes widening shot to be more dramatic - I think what would have exaggerated it more is the change in other parts of the head (for example, the nose lengthening), or a zoom in as well.

When animating the actual sneeze, I didn't know the best way to approach animating a moving fan quickly, so I used the straight ahead technique for the fans and drew in motion lines to help create the illusion of movement. I liked the effect that it produced, and thought the animation conveyed the motion of the action well, but noticed some parts of the head changed during the straight ahead, which was not so noticeable when played once, but when looped to make the shot last longer, it isn't as smooth. If I have to animate something similar in the future, I think it would be better to have the motion lines drawn within the lines of the actual fan to give more of an idea of movement. Due to a lack of time, I also wasn't able to draw the background on of this shot, which may cause some confusion in the continuity when cut with the build-up scenes.
